Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the ride open to?

The Rollfast Gran Fondo is open to any cyclist who wants to participate. Riders under 18 must have the written permission of their parent or guardian (parents must sign the event waiver).

I don't ride, but I want to participate– what can I do?

Volunteering at a rest stop or at the start finish area is an excellent way to be part of the event. Please see our Volunteer Page for more information and to sign up.

Will bad weather cancel the Rollfast Gran Fondo?

Typically Not. The Rollfast Gran Fondo will be held rain or shine, unless a state of emergency is declared by local authorities, or local authorities determine that the event cannot proceed safely.

The Rollfast Gran Fondo reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event at its sole discretion. In the event of serious storms, please check this website the morning of the ride. An email message will also be sent to all registered participants.

Is the Rollfast Gran Fondo a race?

No, it is not a race. Unless designated, the roads are open to traffic. All riders are encouraged to ride at their own pace, and enjoy the ride. Participants must obey all traffic rules and are responsible for their own safety.

Is this only for racers?

No, not at all. Our routes have been designed so that anyone may participate.

What's it like to ride in a large group?

Group riding is typically faster than riding solo. If you've never riden with a group before, we suggest getting some practice with you local cycling clubs to learn about basic pack safety and etiquette.

How fast do I have to ride?

The course closes at 5:00pm; all riders must be finished at this time. This equates to an average pace of 12.5 MPH (including stops) for the Gran Fondo course.

How do riders line up at the start?

The Rollfast Gran Fondo is a mass start event. This means all riders start together regardless of the course they have registered for or their riding ability. We will make an effort to stage faster riders to the front of the ride for everyones safety.

Will there be food at the finish?

Yes, there will be TONS of food options following the ride at the Festival.

Is there a minimum age for participants?

The minimum age for rider participants is 12 years old.
